Man, this blog has changed a lot, hasn't it? It started for me back as a Yahoo group in around what ... 2008?
At the time, it was me and a few others talking about how we were developing or playing campaigns using cobbled-together rules from various Chaosium games.
Then the news that a new BRP volume was forthcoming. Which we all celebrated. And anxiously awaited. And happily posted about how pleased we were with it when it finally arrived.
Now ... well BRP's still around and even in a new volume. Which has some aspects I like, and some I don't. It's also much-maligned, it seems. And Chaosium has pissed people off. And RQ has been through, what 2 or 3 editions - all of them controversial. And CoC has been overhauled (boo!).
And we're still debating things - LOL.
The RPG world has changed a lot too. How 2-3 D&D editions, many old games revived, many new ones, many new approaches.
And many fans to vehemently argue as to how their way is the only right way. Sigh.
I thought I'd start musing again, because I find the world of RPG's in 2025 very strange and confusing. Perhaps some of you will be interested in what I have to say. Perhaps some of you will be able to enlighten me. Or make me think about things in another way. Or tell me to shove off. We'll see...
